LAST MINUTE HELPFUL HINTS:

 

  • WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TAKING METRO, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
  • MAJOR STREET CLOSURES UPDATE:  The Dept. of Homeland Security dictates all security measures in the city, including street closures, and DHS may change the rules at any time.  That said, click HERE for a map of the city, broken down by Zones – Red Zone and Green Zone.  Please note that the Hyatt Regency is in the GREEN ZONE.  AS OF JAN 18, DHS CONFIRMED THE FOLLOWING ROAD CLOSURE RULES FOR THURSDAY EVENING (THE NIGHT OF OUR BALL.)  VEHICLES MAY LEAVE THE GREEN ZONE ALL NIGHT, AS LONG AS THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE GREEN ZONE BEFORE MIDNIGHT.  BUT, VEHICLES MAY NOT ENTER THE GREEN ZONE AFTER MIDNIGHT ON THE EVENING OF OUR BALL.  SO, IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET PICKED UP BY UBER, OR A CAB, OR ANY OTHER RIDE, THAT VEHICLE MUST BE INSIDE THE GREEN ZONE BY MIDNIGHT (12:00am Jan 20.) 
  • PLAN AHEAD:  Allow ample time for travel and parking, due to road closures and high traffic volume.
  • WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TAKING METRO, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE
  • METRO HOURS: Metro has said they are running on a regular schedule, which means that they end service at MIDNIGHT (12:00am Jan 20).  For the latest info check the WMTA web site or click HERE
  • PARKING: You can avoid parking by taking METRO, or Uber, or a cab (but please note the restrictions about vehicles entering the Green Zone, listed above).  We do not manage the parking in DC, but if you are driving there are a few garages, close to the Hyatt Regency, which will be open.  They are: 1) Colonial Lot at 36 E Street (between N. Capital St NW and New Jersey Ave NW);  2) 25 Massachusetts Ave NW;  3) 415 New Jersey Ave NW
  • EVENT HOURS: Doors open at 7:30pm. Food, beverage and entertainment begin at 8:00, and the event ends at Midnight. See the MENU page for food and beverage service hours
  • BRING: Be sure to bring your Ticket and ID to ensure entry, as well as cash for coat check
  • COAT CHECK: The Hyatt Regency is providing a coat check for an additional fee
  • HOTEL ROOMS: If you still need a room, the Hyatt Regency has a few available (while they last.) There is a two night minimum (choose either the 18th & 19th, or the 19th & 20th). The rate is $1,099 per night, plus tax

OTHER FAQs

Will President-elect Trump be there?  As of the time this update was posted, President-elect trump has not formally announced his inaugural ball plans.  We do not yet know which ball(s) he will be attending, but it is expected that he will only attend one (or perhaps a couple) balls, which will be by invitation only. This is typical for all inaugurations.  Although he is not expected to attend the All American Ball, we have a spectacular evening planned, with all the trappings and excitement you would expect at a premier Inaugural Ball.

What are the seating arrangements for the All-American Inaugural Ball?
 The All-American Inaugural Ball is a reception-style gala.  In other words, it is NOT a seated event. Seating is VERY, VERY limited to maximize event space and comfortable crowd flow. To reserve a table email Chelsey at Cwince@eventsedc.com.  

Are hotel rooms included with the All American Ball Ticket? 
NO, event tickets do not inlcude hotel rooms. You must contact the hotel directly at (202) 737-1234 for information about room availability, pricing and reservations. 

Do I need to bring anything with me? 
The All American Inaugural Ball features an all-inclusive package (includes all your drinks.)  You will need cash for parking and coat check, if you use these services.  All attendees are required to bring an up-to-date photo ID and, also, please remember that you must bring the bar-coded ticket you printed in order to gain entry into the event.

What is the dress code? The event is “Creative Black Tie Optional” with an emphasis on “creative”! Typically men wear either a tuxedo or a suit, while women generally wear either gowns or cocktail dresses… but many add their own flavor of patriotism to brighten the evening.  This is a party.. have fun with it!

Is there a minimum age to attend the event? Guests of all ages are welcome at the All American Inaugural Ball; however, EVERY GUEST MUST HAVE A TICKET TO ENTER THE BALL. Also please note that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by, and is the responsibility of, an adult over 18. No one under the age of 21 may drink alcohol.

What is the All American Inaugural Ball? 
The All American Inaugural Ball is an exiting gala, taking place on January 19, 2017 to celebrate the swearing in of the President and Vice President of the United States; and also honors several American Heroes.  Come celebrate Washington, DC’s most profound tradition with your fellow, proud Americans.  


Who is invited to the All American Inaugural Ball? 
Members of Congress and the administration, other US dignitaries, members of the media, All American Hero Award recipients and ticket purchasers are invited to attend the All American Inaugural Ball.

What entertainment and food will be at the All American Inaugural Ball?

What is the schedule of the presidential swearing-in ceremony?
 The official swearing-in of the 45th president will take place on the steps of the US Capitol at noon on Friday, January 20, 2017.  The Presidential Inaugural Committee is responsible for planning the official events related to the Inauguration.



How do I get tickets to the swearing-in ceremony?
 Tickets for the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony will be distributed in January 2013 by both Senators and Representatives of Congress.  Please contact your state’s Senator or Representative for more details.
