Deborah Snyder is an Army Veteran and a native of Alexandria, Virginia. She retired in 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel with 22 years of service as a helicopter pilot in the Aviation Branch. Lieutenant Colonel Snyder is a Magna cum laude graduate of James Madison University and a distinguished military graduate of JMU’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and a Masters in Military Studies.
She served in a variety of leadership positions to include Platoon and Company Commander, Operations Officer, Branch Chief, Liaison Officer and Division Chief. She also has extensive experience managing programs at the tactical and strategic levels. Lieutenant Colonel Snyder is a decorated combat Veteran. Her formal military training includes the Aviation Advanced & Basic Courses; Air Assault & Airborne schools; UH-1 “Huey” & UH-60 Blackhawk Flight Training, and the Test Pilot Course. Deborah also attended the Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Marine Command and Staff College and the Army Force Management School.
Deborah served as a Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) as an Analyst for another 10 years. She is passionate about helping others, especially those who sacrificed so much for this country through military service. Deborah conceived and established Operation Renewed Hope Foundation in 2011 specifically to help homeless Veterans. She leads a team of professionals equally dedicated to this challenge.
They have directly assisted more than 1500 Veterans and their family members experiencing homelessness!
